The fine barque Ramillies has brought to our shores
the first detachment of the new Corps of Royal
New Zealand Fencibles consisting of 67 men under
the command of Capt Kenny with their families
of 55 women and 123 children.
She has been 111 days on the passage from Gravesend.
The Ramillies has brought but a small mail as
the Protector had sailed previously for Wellington,
Nelson and Auckland and taken a large New Zealand
mail.
