SURVIVOR
OF THE MARQUETTE [AWN 11.11.1915]
Among
the survivors from the Marquette was Sergeant F C BENFIELD.
He was on the staff of the No.1 Stationary Hospital and
as his name did not appear in any of the lists published
recently, his wife, who is now in Auckland, telegraphed
to the authorities in Wellington. She received a reply that
Sgt Benfield was on the transport and survived the disaster.
