The Victory sailed from London Docks on the 4th and from Lands End on the 17th October.

She brings above 90 passengers to New Zealand, out of which 25 are for Auckland, about the same number for New Plymouth and the remainder for Wellington, Wanganui and Otago.

She adopted the principle of circular sailing on the passage out and has performed it in much shorter time than the majority of vessels that have formerly arrived here from England. She was as far south as 51 degrees where she fell in with icebergs of immense size but seldom approached nearer than eight or ten miles of them.

She sighted Van Diemens Land when three months from London. She spoke no vessels connected with the Colonies.
