CRICKET MATCH AT TE AWAMUTU:

An interesting cricket match took place at Te Awamutu on the 27th inst, which created a good deal of interest among the garrison, a large number of whom assembled on the ground to witness the play. lthough the ground was somewhat rough and the weather very warm, some first-rate cricketing was displayed by both sides, the capital bowling of private Crimmings and the scientific batting of private Tomlinson, being much admired by the genuine lovers of this truly English game.
